A book about education I really like.
35 Trucos para ser un Profe Genial
I’ve
bought this book these Christmas holidays. It’s got an appealing and
interesting title. 35 tricks to become
a cool teacher. Tricks? yes, she’s right: we often need to perform tricks in our
classes, don’t we?
The author
shares with us her 20-year-teaching experience in a secondary school .For her,
teaching is a mixture of interesting materials, original ideas and, not
less important, a positive attitude towards life (both academic and
personal).
It may not
be a very long book, but I find it practical and handy.
According
to the author, you can use nearly everything in your lessons; each object may
have a second use (even a third).
I really
enjoy the personal aspect it describes. If a teacher wants to be “cool”, he
should be active and really awake in class. Her ideas for a positive attitude
have made me feel conscious of this: teaching not only means preparing our
classes but also being wide awake and ready to face every situation in them.
Unfortunately,
this book is only in its Spanish version. Let’s wait the author gives us an
English version soon.
Hope you
like it as much as I do.
